(1) To work as the chief administrative officer of the center, a person who has passed at least a master's degree and has gained at least ten years of experience in the field of waste management will be appointed by the Government of Nepal as the executive director of the center.
(2) The term of office of the Executive Director shall be four years and he may be reappointed.
(3) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (2), the Government of Nepal may remove him from office before the end of his term if he does not perform his duties honestly, if he does not conduct himself in accordance with the position or if he is found to have a lack of performance capacity or lack of work effectiveness. But he will not be deprived of the opportunity to submit his explanation before being removed from office.
(4) The executive director's remuneration, facilities and other conditions of service shall be as prescribed.
